Project Overview
The Community Information Clubhouse (CIC) provides a program that involves Long Beach area residents in transforming information into useful knowledge in the digital economy through collaboration. The project focuses on:
- involving low income, underprivileged, and ethnic minority individuals as well as those who wish to change their mid-career or expand their options to understand and learn information technology applications and develop opportunities for themselves.
- transforming digital information into relevant knowledge to gain economic and business benefits.
- effectively disseminating learning experience to other residents.
User engagement, information transformation, and collaboration are the key ingredients of making community technology more effective in economic development. The Community Information Clubhouse (CIC) has been in operation in Long Beach.
